TWO BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS

March 19, 2010

I want to take this opportunity to announce to you, my friends about something that still has me in shock and in awe. I have recently received my Episcopal Certificate of Appointment to the Office of Bishop.

With this Episcopal appointment, I will be the Prelate of the churches in the state of Florida within an apostolic body of believers. This is quite an honor that I am most humbled by. In my nearly 20 years of preaching the gospel and 10 years of being a pastor, I have never desired or sought elevation to the office of the Bishop. I am not one that seeks position. I am not one who gets caught up in titles. As a matter of fact, I still introduce myself to most people that I meet as “Robert Carpenter. “

God is not concerned about titles as much as He is concerned about us fulfilling the mandate of the title that He has given us. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said this, “If it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures, sweep streets like Beethoven composed music, sweep streets like Leontyne Price sings before the Metropolitan Opera. Sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will have to pause and say: Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well.” That’s what God wants from all of us. Anyone that has known me in the numerous capacities that I've served in the Lord’s church knows that I always give 100% in whatever “position” I am in. In this next level of ministry, I intend to do the same: serve the people, the churches and the pastors that are within my jurisdiction.

Another announcement is that I have the opportunity to minister internationally within the next few weeks on The Word Network. My show is called, “Let’s Go! with Robert L. Carpenter, II.” This show will be broadcast weekly on Monday mornings. (Time to be announced later) This show will be a little different from the usual “preacher preaching” type broadcast. However, in addition to the sharing the word of God, we will be integrating social media. (Facebook, Twitter & even Myspace) That’s right, from now on your responses to my posts may be used during an upcoming show. It is definitely going to be an exciting experience. You don’t want to miss this show.

Finally, I want to thank all of you for your prayers and continued support. The word of God says, “To whom much is given, much is required.” God has afforded much into my hands. I don’t take it for granted and I’m often overwhelmed that God trusts me with so much. I consider myself like the Apostle Paul when he said, “Although I am less than the least of all God's people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ…”

Just like God has blessed me “in spite of” my faults and failures, God will bless you. Just be faithful in serving Him and serving others. Take your God-given mission seriously, but don’t take yourself too seriously. Even though you are the one with the mission, its not really about you. It’s about His purpose being fulfilled in the earth. We should be humbled and grateful that God chooses to use us. Whatever God has destined you to do, do it with all your might.

I love you with the love of the Lord. I’m ready to serve. Let’s go!

In HIS service,

Bishop-designate Robert L. Carpenter, II

My Transition to a Semi-vegetarian Lifestyle

Today I begin my transition to a semi-vegetarian diet/lifestyle. As some of you know, I have had some minor health challenges over the last two years which were starting become health issues if I didn't make some changes in my lifestyle. One being stress and the other my diet.

I mean, let me be honest. I've never met a food I didn't like. lol But all things must be done in moderation. I've never been much of a red meat eater, although I love a steak from III Forks or Ruth's Chris maybe once a year. Never been much of a pork lover, but if you taste my cousin Naaman Rolle's ribs, you'd almost want to slap somebody they are so good. I love shellfish, but only if I don't think about THEIR dietary habits. (UGH!) I could go on and on about my favorite cuisines, but there are so many this blog couldn't contain them.

So, starting today, also the day my 1st book is being released, I will begin the dietary lifestyle of a semi-vegetarian. I have enlisted the aid of a nutritionist and I begin my exercise routine at the nearby fitness center. If you want to post your notes of encouragement or debate, please feel free. I welcome it all. I'm ready to do this. Let's go!

Semi-vegetarian diets

Semi-vegetarian diets primarily consist of vegetarian foods, though occasional exceptions are made for some non-vegetarian foods, including fish, poultry and red meat. These diets may be followed by those who choose to reduce the amount of animal flesh consumed as a way of transitioning to a vegetarian diet or for health, environmental, or other reasons. The term "semi-vegetarian" is contested by most vegetarian groups, who believe that vegetarianism must exclude all animal flesh.[6] Many individuals describe themselves as "vegetarian" while practicing a semi-vegetarian diet.[13][14] Semi-vegetarian diets include:

* Flexitarianism: A diet that consists primarily of vegetarian food, but includes occasional exceptions such as red meat.
* Pescetarianism: A diet that is mainly vegetarian but also includes fish and sometimes other seafood.
* Pollotarianism: A diet that is mainly vegetarian but also includes poultry.
* Macrobiotic diet: A diet of mostly whole grains and beans. Not all macrobiotics are vegetarians, as some consume fish.

The Love I Feel For You

The Love I Feel For You

I never stop thinking
About the love we share
You're always on my mind
And nothing can compare...

Whenever I'm sad
You brighten my day
You make me so happy
That makes my day

I love being with you
I feel so safe
Being in your arms
There is no better place

You hold me so tight
I know you'll never leave
Or break my heart
This I firmly believe

I've never felt this strongly
Oh, this love is so rare
You'll always be in my heart
Because I know nothing can compare
For this love I feel for you

From The Moment I Saw You

From the moment I saw you...
From The Moment I Looked Into Your Eyes...

There Was Something About You...
I Had Found A Once In A Lifetime...
And A Treasure That Is Impossible To Find...
When I'm With You, I'm Complete...
To Hear Your Laugh...
To See Your Smile...
To Listen To Your Beautiful Voice...
To Stare Into Your Eyes...
Makes Me Complete...

All I Want From You Is To...
Hug You...
Kiss You...
Hold Your Hand...
Hold You In My Arms...

Why...

Because You Are Everything To Me...
To You, Not Just A Friend...
To Me, You're My World, My Heart, My Soul...

I Want To Spend The Rest Of My Life With You...
You'd Never Know How Far I Would Go For You...

I Would Give My Life In the Place Of Yours...
I Want You To Know...
I Will Always Be There For You...
When You...
Need Someone To Talk To...
Need Someone To Cry With...
Need Someone Who Will Listen...
Need Someone To Be Mad At...
Need Someone To Lean On...

Anytime You Need Me... Day Or Night...
Know That...
I Will Always Be There For You...
I Will Love You Forever And A Day...

God Tells Me That You're An Angel...
But I Already Knew...

You're Everything To Me...
And You Always Will Be...

The Physiology of Love

THE PHYSIOLOGY OF LOVE

My heart is sad when I don't hear from her.
My stomach gets butterflies when I do hear from her.
My mind spins in excitement when I encounter her.
My lips tingle when I kiss her
My feet pick up the pace when I'm walking towards her.
My hands gently hold her when in my arms
My eyes are teary whenever I see her
My ears listen attentively whenever she speaks to me
It is so amazing
The physiology of love

My Type

My Type

My type loves me to the core unconditionally.
She supports me.
She feels me.
She knows me.
She allows me to love her unconditionally.

My type has me sprung even though she doesn't live near me.
I find myself planning visits to her and looking forward to her's.
Her faintest wish immediately becomes my greatest command.
I live to make her smile.
She speaks wisdom. motivation, energy, and life into my spirit.
She just plain excites me at the very thought of her.

My type is
Professional,
Classy,
Spiritual,
Savvy,
Nurturing,
Strong yet gentle,
A flower of beauty, elegance and charm.
Even when she's upset she allows me the opportunity to correct it
Then drops it so we can kiss and make up before the sun sets.

She is confident in her abilities.
She has creativity and ingenuity.
She is romantic by nature.
She exudes beauty when she speaks.

My type simply is.
She knows she is.
For YOU ARE my type.
